Gold to Silver Ratio Using GLD and SLV

Use this calculator to calculate a gold to silver ratio using prices of the SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) and the iShares Silver Trust (SLV), both exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Prices are from by Alpha Vantage.

This ratio is not the same as the conventional gold to silver ratio that indicates how many ounces of silver it takes to buy one ounce of gold. Rather this ratio shows how many shares of SLV is needed to be one share of GLD. This ratio and the conventional ratio have very similar chart patterns. However, the actual ratios differ in magnitude.
