Closing Stock Price Up Down Returns Calculator
Use this calculator to compute the number and percent of closes plus the average return of those closes that are up and down from the previous closing price for any stock, exchange-traded fund (ETF) and mutual fund listed on a major U.S. stock exchange and supported by Alpha Vantage. Some stocks traded on non-U.S. exchanges are also supported. Indexes are not supported.
All closing prices are adjusted for splits and dividends.
If Number Prices: is ALL, the results are based on all closing prices for the stock included in the Alpha Vantage price database.
If Number Prices: is a number, the results are based on the last Number Prices of closing prices for the stock included in the Alpha Vantage price database. For example, if Number Prices: is 100, the calculator uses the last (most current) 100 closing prices.
The first table displays the number and percent of closes plus the average return of those closes that are up and down from the previous closing price.
The chart displays the percent return for each close.
The second table displays the number and percent of closes plus the average return of those closes that are up or down given the previous close is up or down. So there are four categories of returns: up close following by up close, up close followed by down close, down close followed by up close and down close followed by down close.
