Use the Annual Dividend Income Calculator for Individual Dividend-Paying Stock to compute the annual income derived from dividends for any stock, exchange-traded fund (ETF) and mutual fund listed on a major U.S. stock exchange and supported by Alpha Vantage. Stocks traded on non-U.S. exchanges are also supported. Indexes are not supported.


To run the calculator enter a stock symbol, the number of shares owned, the amount invested (may be 0) at the current stock price, the number of dividends paid per year and the annual dividend growth rate (may be 0) and press the Display Results button.

The calculator computes the annual dividends paid in two steps. First, it multiples the current dividend from by the number of shares owned. Second, the calculator computes the number of shares purchased by dividing the amount invested that you entered by the current price monthly closing price. Then it computes the total annual dividends paid by multiplying the current dividend by the total number of shares (currently owned plus purchased).

Next, the dividend incomes in five and ten years are computed based on the annual dividend growth rate and the total number of shares owned. The dividend growth rate is constant and dividends are not reinvested.
