401(k) Balances Are Disturbingly Low

United States workers are not saving enough money for their retirement. According to a study released in August 2006 by the Benefit Research
Institute (EBRI) and the Investment Company Institute (ICI) the average 401(k) balance for workers in their 60s with more than 30 years on the job is $180,988.

Imagine trying to live on that small amount of money for years and years after you retire.
