Market Vectors-Africa Index ETF Features 11 African Countries

The Market Vectors-Africa Index ETF (AFK), an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that started trading on July 10, 2008, tracks the Dow Jones Africa Titans 50 Index, which includes stocks that are based or do business in 11 African countries (Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia).

Currently, the top sectors include financials, basic resources plus oil and gas.

The top five holdings, as of August 5, 2008, are Mobile Telecommunications Company, Tullow Oil, Sasol Limited, First Bank of Nigeria and Orascom Construction Industries.

AFK has a net expense ratio of 0.83 percent.
