Aqua America Raises Dividend Seven Percent

Aqua America (WTR), a provider of water and wastewater services to customers in 13 states, has raised its quarterly dividend from $0.135 per share to $0.145 per share, a 7.41 percent increase. The new dividend is payable December 1, 2009 to shareholders of record as of November 16, 2009.

In addition, WTR will pay a regular dividend of $0.135 per share on September 1, 2009 to shareholders of record on August 17, 2009.

WTR has paid consecutive quarterly dividends for more than 60 years. And it has raised its dividend the last 11 years and 19 times in the last 18 years. The stock is a candidate for an income or long-term dividend reinvestment program.
