Sherman-Williams Is a Great Dividend-Paying Stock

Sherman-Williams (SHW), a large producer of paints and coatings, has a long history of increasing its dividend. From May 1986 to May 2009, SHW has raised its quarterly dividend from $0.03125 to $0.355, an 11.14 annualized rate of increase that easily beats the rate of inflation.

Its current dividend yield is 2.60 percent.

And SHW has consistently traded above its 10-year simple moving average (green line on chart below) for the period December 1986 through May 27, 2009.

SHW is an excellent candidate for a long-term dividend reinvestment portfolio.

I (RAH) do not own SHW.
