SPDR S&P Dividend ETF's Dividend Yield Exceeds Four Percent

SPDR S&P Dividend ETF (SDY), an exchange-traded fund that closely matches the S&P High Yield Dividend Aristocrats Index, holds companies with long records of increasing dividends. As of August 14, 2008, the dividend yield of SDY 4.51 percent.

Currently the top three sectors of SDY are financials, utilities and consumer discretionary. The top five holdings are Bank of America (BAC), Pfizer (PFE), Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB), Comerica (CMA) and Firstmerit Corp (FMER)

The fund's expense ratio is 0.35 percent.

SDY a candidate for a buy-and-hold dividend reinvestment program.
