Pfizer (PFE), a large pharmaceutical company, has fallen in price pushing up its dividend yield to 6.30 percent. However, the annual dividend of $1.28 exceeds the trailing twelve month earnings of $1.10. But Pfizer has a long record of increasing its dividend, so it would uncharacteristic for the company to cut its dividend.
Currently, PFE is trading on the price downside, but it is near strong support at $19. I (RAH) have owned PFE since 1989, and I purchased more shares this week.
