Medtronic Pays Increasing Dividends

Medtronic (MDT), a well-known medical devices company, has increased its quarterly cash dividend from $0.1875 to $0.205, a 9.33 percent increase. The dividend is payable on July 31, 2009 to shareholders of record as of July 10, 2009.

Its current dividend yield is 2.40 percent. MDT has a long history of raising its dividend. See table of dividend payments since 1972.

MDT is an excellent candidate for a long-term dividend reinvestment portfolio.

I (RAH) do not own MDT.
