Colgate-Palmolive Increases Dividend 10 Percent
While many companies are cutting dividends, Colgate-Palmolive (CL)
continues its multiyear record of increasing its dividend. On February
26, 2009, CL announced a quarterly dividend increase to 44 cents from
40 cents. The new dividend will be paid on May 15, 2009 to shareholders
of record as of April 24, 2009.
Ian Cook, Colgate's Chairman, President and CEO, stated: "This dividend
increase demonstrates the Board's confidence in the continued strong and
profitable growth of Colgate's global business, our cash generation capabilities,
and our firm commitment to building value."

CL is an excellent candidate for a dividend-income or dividend-reinvestment
portfolio.
