Xstrata Could Be a Tempting Takeover Target
Xstrata (XTA.L
and XSRAF.PK),
a global mining company headquarter in Zug, Switzerland, has a rich portfolio
of commodities. Its operations in cobalt, coking coal, copper, ferrochrome,
gold, lead, nickel, platinum group metals, silver, thermal coal, vanadium
and zinc enable the company to benefit from the current boom in commodities.
Xstrata has completed many acquisitions in the past few years, but now
there is speculation that it could be a takeover target as the mining
industry continues to consolidate.
Its price chart shows a multi-year volatile upside that has made lots
of money for astute investors.
