
Cement Maker Lafarge Is On a Long-term Upside
Lafarge (LAFP.PA
and LFRGY.OTC),
the world's largest cement maker, today announced that it plans to acquire
Orascom Construction Industries' cement business. The deal will give the
French company the leading market position in the fast-growing construction
markets in the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern countries.
Lafarge's shares have been on a long-term price upside not withstanding
the recent significant correction.
